I recived these tips through my email. So I am not sure if they work or not.
CLEANING
Instead of using commercial waxes, shine appliances by using rubbing alcohol.
To clean a frost-free freezer, mix 1/2 cup of isopropyl alcohol with a dishpan full of lukewarm water. The alcohol loosens any icy matter. Sponge away the dirt. The alcohol evaporates rapidly, so you do not have to dry.
After defrosting the freezer, spray it with alcohol or vegetable oil spray. I
t will be less work the next time you defrost.
Get permanent marker off of your countertop by using rubbing alcohol
For kitchen use, I add a little more rubbing alcohol and put it in a spray bottle. I use it for everything from cleaning my glasses to cleaning my glass-top stove. Works best if used with a microfiber cloth. Almost nothing that these can't clean
BATHROOM
For bumps, bruises strained muscles. Get a reusable ice pack; mix 1 part isopropyl [rubbing] ALCOHOL with 2 parts water, then pour it into a hot water bottle [ don't fill; room to expansion] Squeeze out all air, insert plug, put in freezer. you can use a heavy-duty, zip-top plastic freezer bag. Posion ivy; swab the affected skin with ALCOHOL which will cut thropugh the plant's toxic oil and dilute it. Then wash the area with soap and water.
Stash some cotton balls and rubbing alcohol in the bathroom. This works great for really quick wipe-downs!
PERSONAL
New dress shoes to tight/ this will prevent blisters ; saturate a cotton ball with ALCOHOL and rub it on the inside of shoe at the tight spots
Ever have a problem getting a price tag off of something youjust bought? Try covering the tag with an alcohol soaked cotton ball...let sit, and wipe away!
CAR
I read this tip for windshield washing fluid for your car. Works great on everything, especially in the kitchen.
Fill a gallon jug with water, almost full. Add one cup of rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) and a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid (Dawn is very good for grease cutting abilities). Mix gently.
This is great for your car's windshields.
