Your Thirty Eighth Prompt is "Sunlight".
Welcome all Poetry Please members!
I was up all night reading a couple of nights ago and it amazed me that the sky was lightening as early as 4:30 am. It hasn't felt entirely summer-like yet, and solstice has been sneaking up on me. This week I wanted to have a prompt in honor of the longest day of the year, so let's consider sunlight. Happy Writing!
Remember that we recently increased the line limit from 36 to 40 to accommodate different poetic styles.
And, on the issue of multiple entries, I want to be clear that you should write and submit as many poems as you would like and they will be accepted into the group. However, please be sure to let me know which one you wish to be in the challenge as only one can be. Otherwise I may just have to choose the first poem posted as your entry, even if it is not your best.
One more quick note: the deadline for entries is 9 PM EDT Saturday. Late entries will always be allowed into the group, but will miss out on the challenge.
I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for posting the names and rules of the less ordinary poetic forms that you are using. I truly appreciate it. I have learned so many new ones lately. Thanks again. Keep writing in those new forms and don't forget the rules for me.
Remember, you don't have to actually use the challenge word and you can write in whatever style you please. But do take a moment to look at the group description if you haven't already.
Please remember to add "Poetry Please Single Word Challenge" or just "Single Word Challenge" to either your title or tags as I will be monitoring the group.
Welcome Back Everyone!
