Over millions of years wind and water carved out this majestic piece of earth known as the Red River Gorge located in the Daniel Boone National Forest in eastern Kentucky. Its uniqueness includes over 80 natural arches, unusual vegetation and rock shelters once used by Indians and probably Daniel Boone.
It offers diverse activities among which are: hiking, camping, picnicking, hunting, fishing, boating, swimming, horseback riding, bicycling, rock climbing, spelunking, bird watching, photography, and nature study.
The estimated 500 miles of trails offer almost endless

hiking. My husband and I have enjoyed both day trips and overnight backpacking camping. Its magnificence has attracted nature enthusiasts both nationally and internationally.
Enjoy a pictorial walk along a minute portion of the trails offered.
