My calico cat, Prissy, had five kittens day before yesterday. Today, I went out back to check on them and discovered something that I hadn't noticed the first time I saw them. The little gray kitten's back legs are deformed.
They are slightly curled towards its body, and one leg is bent almost backwards. It is otherwise perfectly normal. It crawls around over the other kittens and its mother. The mother cat doesn't seem to pay any attention to her baby's strange looking legs.
I'm certain that the kitten will never be able to walk normally. What would you do?

2. Critters overcome and deal with amazing handicaps on their own.
3. Wait and see.
Good advice.
What you really need to do is get Prissy fixed!
I agree that Prissy should be spade asap!
Many years ago, I had a tiny kitten that suffered a broken back, and its hind legs were paralyzed. The vet said put it to sleep or see how it does. I decided to see how it did. She became the best (and wildest) kitten ever! It was nothing to see her climbing straight up the drapes!! Not where you want a cat, but it just proves how they can adapt and do whatever they want, given a chance!
AND, I agree with everyone who recommended getting Prissy spayed. That will take place as soon as she weans these kittens! People where I work want kittens, but I don't want her to become a kitten machine! There are WAY too many cats without homes at all.
I so appreciate all the comments. Animal lovers always support one another!!
He is a cutie. I haven't decided on a name yet. He is solid gray, so if anyone wants to suggest ideas for names, I'll be glad to have them.
I really was getting attached to the little guy. He loved to cuddle!
