Every year for the past several years, my mom has bought the kids their own tomato plant! My kids LOVE eating tomatoes! They each get a cherry tomato plants of there very own. They take care of them, water them and then get to eat their crop of cute little baby tomatoes, as they call them.
My parents brought the plants up with them last weekend, but it's been too nasty to transplant them into their own pots up until this afternoon. Once the weather broke, we headed outside. We keep them in planters on the deck so they can easily take care of them and they are safe from the dogs.
If you notice, they also have cute little gardening gloves on. Grandma also brought those up for them along with their tomato plants!
