What do astrology and alchemy have to do with atheism, apart from starting with an "a" for etymologically diverse reasons? The first two make certain unverifiable statements about the universe; the third one refrains from making a specific set of unverifiable statements (called "theism") about the same. You're right that none of them are science ("true science" is a tautology). The first two are pseudoscience, the third is a philosophical position.

"Bothering" with astrology and alchemy these days is indeed a waste of time. Past generations bothering with them did lead, after the crystallization of the scientific method, to the modern sciences of astronomy and chemistry. It wasn't all time wasted.

I agree, totally, Aniko!
The three words in the first lines were just meant to be a "sloppy" alliteration," now that I think about it!
Perhaps I will revise and come up with a more appropriate third word beginning with an "a!"
