As many of you know I am purchasing a Curves fitness center for women in my town. I want to have a Grand Opening and want to get all my great Gather friends ideas..... Please help...
Wow, I've never been to a Curves. Whenever I hear grand opening, I think maybe free refreshments like coffee and whatever (cookies don't sound like they'd fit at a Curves). Good luck!
Maybe you could get some of those curves bars from the store. Cut them up and serve them. What about a drawing for a month free of curves? I always like gift baskets. A gift basket drawing might be nice.
Raffles are big draws. Do you have any womens sports teams in the area that you could ask to join in the fun? I know that there are a lot of local leagues for women around for hockey, basketball and such. It would be good PR for them and you.
I was thinking the Curves bars and some Crystal Lite drinks....an archway of balloons over the desk....giveaways all week for sure....I'm asking the members to fill out a survey and will give out free Curves pens.... These are some great ideas...Thanks you all.

You should try to do something to get people to come as groups...give discounts to carpoolers...when you come with a buddy you stick with it...that will be good for you and them. Free water is a good idea....herbal teas? Get some female athletes to come do demos? Do a fun-raiser for a high school sports team. Pay them towards their team for coming and doing demos? You are doing community service...and you will get their parents and relatives.

Sounds like alot of fun. I like what someone else said above about some sort of gift basket. Anyone that comes in the door gets to pu their name in a basket and you could give away a couple of small gift baskets (bath and body, fitness bars ect.) for door prizes. Also you could give away a free month at curves to try to get some one in the door and get addicted so they would want to come back.
Honestly? I like Ed's idea but I think the first 20 or 50 or (pick a number) people in the door should get a gas card. Think of it.....if you let people know they might get one, they'd be encouraged to drive over and check it out. If they walk over, you can just give them a gallon o free ice cream..oooops (forget that idea) Or an hour of free time in a class.
Here were my ideas....give out coupons for 2 free weeks to my current members to encourage them to bring a friend. If new folks sign up durning the grand opening week or month I would waive the sign up fee( a $75 value). If a current member brings a friend and they sign up for 12 months then the friend gets a month free...if they bring in 12 friends they would get a year free. I like the free year as a grand prize. Thanks ED....also gift baskets, mugs, etc....I really like the gas card prize too!!! EXCELLENT IDEAS EVERYONE...THANKS!!
also make sure you get the word out.. flyers, word of mouth (adv. will be too expensive)let the local radio stations, newspaper and tv know.. who knows they might stop by! Best of luck my friend! I know how excited you are for this venture!
