The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center is located in beautiful Balboa Park, at 1875 El Prado San Diego, CA 92101. The Fleet is home to Southern California's only IMAX® Dome Theater and more than one hundred science exhibits for all ages. Watch immersive giant-screen films and amazing planetarium shows on the IMAX Dome and experience seven galleries of fun, interactive exhibits. A 23-passenger motion simulator ride thrills visitors with journeys into exciting realms.
The Fleet Science center is open every day of the year from 9:30 a.m., with closing time varying by season and day. The Fleet Science Center inspires curiosity and sparks imagination in children of all ages. "Kid City" is a colorful, interactive space where small children (infants through age six) can play and learn. Traveling exhibitions offer a fun and always-changing variety of hands-on science exhibits. On the 3rd Saturday of each month, parents and kids can work together to create their own take-home science exhibit at Family Science Days. Live science demonstrations amaze and entertain daily at the Exploration Bar.
Basic admission to the gallery is $8.00 for adults, and $6.75 for juniors and seniors. Additional costs are added on for IMAX films. An early bird discount is available for the 10:00 a.m. show of "Secrets of the Mummies" on Saturdays and Sundays. Special senior citizen discounts are available on the first Monday of every month.
