FX Cancelled "Dirt"

If you don't know what that is, it's an AWESOME show on FX where Courtney Cox is the star. She plays Lucy Spiller, a tabloid magazine editor who will stop at nothing to get the perfect cover story. The show lasted 2 seasons and kept you on the edge of your seat at every episode. I loved every minute of it. It was drama mixed in with murder, mystery, a little quirky comedy, and lots of lust!

They claimed that after the writer's strike put episodes on hold, there was a drop in ratings, so they cancelled the show. I think it sucks! I loved that show, and the writer's strike seemed to have been the reason that lots of great shows got cancelled this year!

I don't think I watched even one episode of Dirt, so I don't know if it would have been something I was interested in or not. I do know that USA canceled the 4400, and I was sad about that. That's normally one of only two shows I like during the summer.

they call it the 'friends curse'.. i never watched it but i thought it seemed like a really good show ! they always cancel the best shows !

I have never watched this one in particular but I have heard of it and seen the ads in the mall.

I don't think we have FX.

And the good shows did get cancelled. Like Jericho. Again (the fans saved it after they dropped it the first time, by sending thousands of bags of nuts to the producers).

Two of my favorite shows have been canceled so far, one even got brought back by the fans but then they stuck it on at 10pm on Tuesday night so the ratings dropped even farther, so it got canceled again.

It might be the "Friends" curse. Remember "Joey?" It didn't do as well as some would have thought. David Schwimmer wound up being on "Band of Brothers" and I'm not sure what happened to the other cast members. So, yes, it's possible that could have been the reasoning.

My hubby loved this show - I think that is disappointing that they would do that - I am sure that the ratings would have rebounded eventually. We no longer have cable so he hadn't seen the show in a while :(
