This evening a tornado went through the Little Sioux Boy Scout Ranch in western Iowa. About 100 scouts ages 13-18 were there for a leadership training camp. Also there were 25 leaders and staff. The tornado has taken the lives of 4 scouts and injured many others.
This comes when the towns of Parkersburg and New Hartford are still dealing with the deaths and damages caused by an EF5 tornado that nearly wiped out those towns 2 1/2 weeks ago and killed 7. On top of that much of Iowa is now dealing with severe flooding. Everyone still in New Hartford after the tornado was evacuated because of flooding and many other cities and towns up and down the rivers of Eastern Iowa are under evacuation orders, have no electricity or no water or are cut off from surrounding areas. Countless roads and bridges have been washed out.
In all of this the people of Iowa always step up to help their neighbors, but I'm sure many are asking, when will this end.

Be safe.
That's scary too...Christopher is with his Boy Scout Troop at Philmont Scout Camp in New Mexico. He's out hiking for 8 more days...out in the middle of nowhere. Now I'm going to worry a little.
