What's three feet tall, bearded and lives in the garden? No, it's not a garden gnome. It's a flower named after the Greek Goddess of the rainbow. Still, can't guess? They come in vitually every color imaginable and are a ruffled, frilly delight. They are the tall bearded Iris and here are some examples I shot recently. Absolutely gorgeous! I wish they had a longer blooming time. I have an old-fashioned one called a grape iris, it is purple and smells like concord grapes, I am not kidding.
