I wonder why we have to get that Hussein "code" for an anti Obama article? Is it to make it easy for some to ignore it and others to make sure they click on it? Poeple usually aren't talked about using their middle names. I use mine because otherwise there's a zillion Peter Swanson's out there. How many Obamas do you know? It all seems a tad silly, actually, and even a bit desperate.

I don't suppose there's any other Barack Obama, but if they referred to him as Barack H
Obama, would that be more appropriate? Is there some shame to the name? Is there some other reason we shouldn't refer to him by his full name? Is there something wrong with people knowing what it is? Using the full name of someone can be just a formality. You wouldn't want someone to think his middle name was Hitler, would you?
I've never used Obama's middle name, Peter; and, in spite of this fact, it did not preclude me from being subjected to the "tender mercies" of the Leftists on this site. Do the research.
Yes, Peter, and it's only fair to tell you that my comment was somewhat sarcastic. You know, a lot of people have said that GWB is simply not 'presidential' enough to have been president, that he lacks the demeanor, the stature and the eloquence for the position. There are several factors that go into people's voting decisions and for some, this is one of them. It's no less presidential for an American president to have a name associated with a dictator, any dictator, in the minds of some. That's why it's not uncanny, as you've said above, to notice this particular trend.
I would never have explained this to anyone else, but if there's one person on this site that I can honestly say has no guile, it would be you. You disconnected from me when I was very nasty to you on an article of mine ahwile back and I can't say I blame you. I also couldn't resist, so I can't blame myself either, nonetheless, you're a great person and your presence on Gather is something I appereciate.
When I first started writting here on Gather I opted to use my full legal name of Juan Jose, instead of how I am commonly know which is John or Johnny. I knew this would bring out the wackos and make me a target for the anti-Hispanic and immigrantion crowd, especially if I was commenting on or posting articles dealing with illegal immigration. However, if your are going to remain true to yourself, you have stand up and not try to paint yourself as something you are not, no matter how much it may cost you.

GOOD POINT DOYLE
What I don't like is calling him "Barry"-- his childhood nickname, which he dropped soon after reaching college. I say, call someone by the name he uses.
These gather articles are childish. Very stupid of those people who post them. I refrain from commenting. They give the right a bad name. You don't see that from the left. All these lefties attacking McCain are, for the most part, going after him on the issues. God knows there is some materials out there on his personal life that can be twisted. Keep it on the issues.
Their automatic defense is that people who don't agree with them are calling them racist. You don't need to use the word. It's getting pretty sad. Feel bad for those people. Seems like they live in a box.

Peter, because women often change their last name with marriage they often use their maiden name with their married name in order to maintain their identity. That would explain Hillary Rodham Clinton. The people trying to excuse what they are doing with Barack Obama's name are not fooling anyone; they are only making fools of themselves.
"WE", and I'll let them figure out who the "WE" are, have a CODE phrase for them, which isn't so "code": blatant, depraved, hatemongering racists.
I'm pleased that the media has put it out there that using "Hussein" is so obviously racist, so now these . . .what shall we call them "we don't understand what the problem is" people, may no longer feign ignorance.
Again, "WE" knew it all along, though.
Excellent article.
