I asked my (second) husband if he was still as happy as when we were married a couple of years ago. He said he was. He claims he would have said that even without being held a knifepoint-lol! I then asked him how he feels-in one word.
He replied that I probably wouldn't like the word: COMFORTABLE. He said he likes the idea of having his best friend close by all the time. He said it feels good to be with someone with whom he can share his ideas and his hopes. Planning for the future is fun knowing there is someone with whom to share it. Before he met me, he had made a decision to never remarry. I loved him the minute I met him-I think I was pretty intense because his pet name for me was STALKER! (lol)
Living with me is not easy: I have an off beat sense of humor and I am constantly preoccupied with thoughts and ideas that I tell him about on an almost constant basis. I throw huge parties and will do so on a whim, inviting bunches of people- some of whom I know well and others who tag along with those people. I am serious one minute and the queen of silly the next. I am opinionated . I keep odd hours. (I'm usually up at 4am and go to bed around 11pm on good days-lol ) I could go on but I will simply say I think living with me must be an adventure.
Comfort? Marriage is about reaching that very thing in my opinion. It's about, or should be, being comfortable with the person you love. It's even MORE important to be YOURSELF with that person.
David and I have a wonderful, wonderful life. He is the Yin ( quiet, reserved, financially savvy and successful) to my Yan (loud, in your face silly, no clue about money at all and also successful).
I am so thankful for all of my blessings-my children, my mother and brother and of course David-my knight in shining armor, through thick and thin! We live happily now as we make plans to live happily ever after-perhaps on some golden pond somewhere.
Thanks David. I like the word you chose! And I love you!

Well, I guess as long as you like it when you get it (whatever "it" is) ... I guess that's what counts ... because 'liking it' is one of the first steps toward "comfortable"!
Continued GOOD LUCK and happiness ... {and you just might want to keep that knife in you hand for old time's sake!}
