TRANSIT

I love bridges of all sizes. This love was surely aided and abetted by growing up with frequent crossings of the Golden Gate in San Francisco, mainly by car but also on foot.Ever since the Oeresund Bridge was completed in 2000, I have been wanting to drive across. A few days ago I did it!



...transit
go there ... come back ...
bridges make it easy ...
living is more complicated ...
calls for transitions with no coming back ...
leave ... change ... no return possible ...
even if desired ...
it's a one way

I believe I saw this bridge from the air flying into Copenhagen a couple of years ago. Later we rode over it in a train, but since we were on the lower deck we didn't have a very pretty view.

Love the shots - so how did you take those pics, Christina?:)

It reminds me of the Sky Way Bridge in St. Petersburg, FL on the way to Sarasota, FL. I always feel a tad squeamish, but it is a beautiful sight!

I remember this! I like the poem, too. Sometimes I wonder if bridges to places that were formerly isolated from one another (or the world) are a good thing. Prince Edward Island is now accessible by bridge from Nova Scotia, too... I have not been back since the bridge was completed... I wonder how it has changed things on PEI?
