Dissatisfied Clinton Supporters Flock to Third Party in Droves
Moderate third party enjoys 400% increase in new members, as Hillary Clinton supporters search for other options for their preferred candidate; NAIP leadership "admires" Clinton and her ideals, offers her supporters a "new home."
PHILADELPHIA, PA. -- JUNE 7, 2008 - In the wake of the divisive 2008 Democratic primaries. A growing number of Hillary Clinton supporters are searching for an alternative to the Democratic Party, which many believe has abandoned them and their ideals.
Over the past week, traffic on the sign-up board at the NAIP web site has been "off the charts," according to the site administrator. Comments left by new sign-ups paint a picture of Democrats and Clinton supporters enraged at the treatment their candidate has received, and looking for alternatives.
"The Democratic Party Left Me"
Jen Rodgers is a typical example. A lifelong Democrat and mother of two with moderate views on issues, Rodgers reregistered in response to 'the DNC's coronation of a sexist, racist, elitist divider," Senator Barak Obama, who Rogers sees as "unproven, unvetted, and unelectable."
The Democrats' decision to halve the votes of Florida and Michigan, and to award to Senator Obama delegates won by Senator Clinton, proved too much for Lynn Baker. "That was the last straw," Baker says. "I didn't leave the Democratic Party, The Democratic Party left me."
No Obama
Other comments reveal a resolute refusal to voting for Senator Obama under any circumstances. John Polidoro, another lifelong Democrat, supported Obama at first, "But the more I looked into his past, the more I saw how crooked and dangerous he was," says the middle class factory worker from Fairfax, Virginia. "I'll vote for the NAIP ticket, but I'll never vote for Obama." The N A I P gives voters like John Polidoro a way to make a difference this November, and is actively courting them to help collect signatures so the NAIP can oppose Barack Obama in as many states as possible.
NAIP "Naturally A Good Fit" for Clinton Supporters
Founded in 2004, the N A I P is a grassroots, independent party that promotes principles of people above party and good government above good politics.
NAIP chairman Michael Thompson sees an affinity between his party and Clinton supporters. "Like us, Clinton supporters are expressing a desire to see strong, ethical candidates who represent the moderate views of most Americans. Like us, they are tired of politicians who hold radical views that are divisive and out-of-touch with America."
NAIP advocates pragmatic, centrist solutions to issues facing America such as universal healthcare, strong public schools, energy independence and climate change, civil liberties and a strong middle class. NAIP has always appealed to moderate Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. "We're naturally a good fit" for Clinton supporters, Thompson believes. "We offer Hillary Clinton supporters a new home."
Ballot Access Efforts to Oppose Obama
As an active and determined political party, NAIP has a Ballot Access Task Force, which includes top authorities on ballot access law, that are actively working on ways to make a NAIP vote count for Clinton.
This November NAIP expects to be on the ballot in 42 to 46 states, according to Thompson, who also notes that Hillary supporters are encouraging the NAIP to field candidates across the country to challenge elected Obama superdelegates.
To support these initiatives, NAIP urgently needs registered voters to help collect petition signatures before the June deadlines expire in many states.
Hillary Is Always Welcome Here
The NAIP leadership admires Senator Clinton, and agrees that preventing Senator Obama's election is paramount.
"We share Senator Clinton's ideals, and we respect the tenacity and strength she has displayed during her campaign," Thompson says, adding that the top spot on the NAIP ticket is Clinton's whenever she wants it: "Hillary Clinton is always welcome here!"

Right. It had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with her stupid lies, her husband's idiotic comments, and her decision to slash and burn her opponent.
Doesn't surprise me one bit that someone who's delusional enough to believe that her campaign tanked because of someone besides herself is willing to jump to McSame. It seems as though some of the Hillarybots didn't bother to look at issues at all, and were only interested in her because of her sex, therefore find it perfectly acceptable now to vote for someone who is the direct polar opposite of her on every single issue.
The real question here is: Are these people sexist, because they're anti-Obama, or racist (or both?)?
When World War 3 starts under McCain, would you people please hang signs upon yourselfs saying,
"I'm one of the stupid jackasses who voted for this."
so the rest of us know who our traitors are!
I maintain these people are just plain STUPID!
Or are you friends with some of them?
Yes. The NAIP is fielding a Presidential ticket.
Obama has showed little character and he has not outlined one single idea for change.
If you want to make any difference at all. If you want to your vote to have any effect on the DNC at all, then voting third party is your only real option.
Why?
Because that is the only thing that the DNC and the superdelegates fear. It is no accident that the DNC pushed for Obama to win. And it is also no mistake that the RNC pushed for McCain to win despite concerns from the Republican base.
The major parties recognized the trend. Voters have been registering independent in record numbers over the past few years. People are finally getting tired of the major parties. Thus, this primary season was an attempt by both major parties to win back all of those voters that registered independent. They are moving to head off a perceived threat.
The DNC and the superdelegates want Obama to win. You can count on that. However, they are willing to stick with Obama no matter what, even if they think that he will lose. They think that this is best for the party, long term.
The superdelegates will work to get Obama elected. But, at the end of the day. They still have their comfy job. The DNC doesn't want Democrats to vote for McCain. But, they aren't that scared about it. They figure that the strong majprity of Democrats will keep voting Democratic most of the time in the future. Who else are they going to vote for?
It is only by challenging the superdelegates own seats and making it clear to the DNC that you hav other choices in the future.
The DNC wouldn't be playing games with delegates or giving uncommitted votes to their favorite candidate if they didn't take Democratic voters for granted. They simply aren't worried that Hillary voters will go anywhere. They assume that they will eventually all fall in line.
While some say voting third party is a wasted vote, I say voting for the two major parties is a wasted vote. Are you really going to change anything by voting for them.
If you want phony change, then vote Obama.
If you want your vote to really count for change. If you want meaning behind your vote, then vote third party. If not ours, then another one.
Or are you friends with some of them? "
Tim, I am going to assume you were directing that comment at me.
Yes, I am sorry to say that I --WAS-- a Reagan Democrat.
And I am EXTREMELY sorry I ever voted for that worthless traitor!
Ronald Reagan initiated the war on the middle call, and it has been fought ever since.
If you don't see what has been going on for the last 28 years, then you must be of an Archie Bunker brainwashed mentality.
You see Tim, I don't have my head up the butt of either one ideology or the other.
I vote for who the best man is for what is ailing the country at the time.
And right now I certainly think we need a Barak Obama!
With almost 8 years of low intelligence in the White House, think of how refreshing it would be to have someone who knows more than how to scoop up cowpies!
"Obama has showed little character"
"Jerry P. Why resort to calling names? Debate the facts."
Mary Ann - Sorry about the name calling, perhaps I was aiming it at myself for having been so stupid as to vote for Reagan, causing suffering ever since.
Debate the facts! OK:
Perhaps McCain has been a senator for a much longer period than Obama, but I completely disagree that it makes him more qualified. Here is why:
1. McCain thinks that every problem in the world can be solved by dropping a bomb.
I TOTALLY disagree with that mentality!
2. McCain thinks he can solve our economic problems by giving corporations more tax cuts, and making Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy permanent. Those sort of economic policies have gotten us where we are today - the proof is all around you!
Barack proposes completely different ideas than those. (whisper: It's called change).
Additionally, I do not trust McCain, because he has flip-flopped on so many issues, that it is hard to know what he is for anymore. He certainly does not appear to be that moderate man with virtues he used to be.
I see a contrast here:
McCain is an unstable hothead.
Obama is a confident intelligent person.

A third party should have a philosophy that doesn't suck up to Corproate America as both the Democrats and Republicans do. It should be truly INDEPENDENT of them. In fact, it really ought to be hostile to Corporate America and its 2 running dog parties, because its special-vested interests don't coincide with those of the American people, generally.
There are various good, possible candidates who are truly independent from Corporate America's interests, the most visible being Lou Dobbs, who rails against
big business and the Bush Administration every night on CNN, and has written a few books doing that. There are others as well. It's time to break the chains of the 2
parties who don't represent the American people.
I think it's pretty clear that the Hillarybots who hate Obama and are now willing to vote for McBush instead are purely racist. Obviously, they're not sexist, or they wouldn't be voting for freakish wingnut John McSame.
However, they've now suddenly decided that, since Hillary isn't the one, they're going to magically flip every single one of their principles and values 180 degrees in the opposite direction, rather than be caught dead voting for a black man.
If they had principles and values, they'd be voting Obama. If they weren't racist, they'd be voting Obama. If Obama were white, they'd be voting Obama. If Obama were a woman, they'd be voting Obama. If they WERE racist, they'd vote McInsane. Sorry, but the evidence is overwhelming on this.
The strange hypocritical world of politics now finds Hillary supporting Obama ---

If you want a maverick who will vote his conscience, not the party line, go with John McCain.
If you want inexperience, vote for Obama.
He was against the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, as per his conscience.
Now he is for them because the right wingers want them.
He was for legalizing immigrants.
Now he is for throwing them out of the country, because the right wingers want it.
He was the Veteran's advocate.
Now he is against the Veteran Bill, because he is afraid he will lose people to fight his wars.
But one thing he certainly has not changed his mind on is war and more war.
Vote for World War III, vote for Johnny McFlipFlop.
He voted with booshie and his party 100% of the time last year and 95% of the time this year (when he's bothered to even vote, that is). He's also been in bed with corrupt lobbyists his entire career. How does that qualify as "maverick?"
