Glacier Point offers spectacular views, including great views of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and several waterfalls. One thing that I love about Glacier Point is that it is a fantastic opportunity for all people to enjoy the natural wonders of Yosemite. Not everyone can enjoy the many wonderful hikes Yosemite has to offer; however, Glacier Point is handicap accesible, so everyone can enjoy it. Yosemite offers tours to Glacier Point that start in the valley or you can drive to Glacier Point yourself. Glacier Point can also be hiked to in 4-5 hours from the valley. The drive from the valley takes about an hour and offers many gorgeous views along the way. Glacier Point has a gift store, restrooms, and food. Glacier Point Road is only open from May/June to November due to snow.
Glacier Point offers free binoculars. Through the binoculars you can see Half Dome up close. You can actually see all of the hikers on top of the dome!
Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls, Nevada falls, and Vernal Falls are three of several waterfalls that can be seen from Glacier Point.
Nothing reminds you of how high up you are at Glacier Point like looking down at the valley floor! Awhahnee Hotel, Yosemite Lodge, and Merced River can be seen in these pictures-

Or look at the US Geological Survey mark to know exactly how high up you are!
Glacier Point gives you the opportunity to see many of Yosemite's famous spots all at one time. For more information about the park, visit the official
website.
Visiting Yosemite National Park costs $20 per car for a seven day pass or $40 for an annual pass.
