.) In the Court of the Crimson King – King CrimsonThis piece was produced by Barry Godber, an artist and computer programmer, painted the album cover. He died of a heartattack soon after the release of the album. To this day Robert Fripp still has the original painting.
.) Momentary Lapse of Reason – Pink FloydThis cover depicting 700 hospital beds was not trick photography. It was the work of Storm Thorgerson. I could spend a number of lists on Storm Thorgerson's work alone. He is the artist behind classic album covers for such bands as Led Zeppelin, Styx, and of course much more Pink Floyd. I could probably do a Top Five just on Storm Thorgerson.
.) Brain Salad Surgery - Emerson, Lake and PalmerArtwork by H.R. Giger, of Aliens fame. Not only was the artwork by Giger but also the ELP logo was of his design. This album debuted the logo. The artwork used on the cover are entitled "Work #217 ELP I" and "Work #218 ELP II"
.) Relationship of Command – At the Drive InThe cover of "Relationship and Command" was illustrated by Damon Locks. All revolve around imagery of the Trojan War, and the Trojan Horse in particular.
.) Sticky Fingers – Rolling StonesIn 1975, Andy Warhol was commissioned to do several portraits of the band's frontman Mick Jagger. This album art was just one of those pieces. Little know fact, the famous Rolling Stones tongue logo was created by Andy Warhol.
