Trying to stay cool here in the big city today.
Have a blessed day now.
..
Triple Points Monday
I like to eat meals like salads and sandwiches to feel a little cooler.
Use ceiling fans and other small circulating fans.
Limit activity.
Eat cold meals that require no cooking such as smoothies, salads, sandwiches, fresh fruit.
Wear light-colored, light-weight clothing.
Wear a hat when outside.
Drink plenty of liquids.
When all else fails, turn on the a/c for a little while.
We have a pontoon boat that uses very little gas. When there is no breeze, we go out in the boat and create our own. Again, dragging my feet in the water cools me off wonderfully.
Luckily this old house is drafty and shaded with 70 foot tall maples in the front, so the days are not too bad...btu late afternoons are horrible and nights can be worse when the sun is the back of the house and super heats the roof.
When it does get hot out, we use our window AC units. We pay so much for heating bills during the winter, that the slight jump in our electricity during the summer doesn't seem like much at all! We only have to use the AC a few weeks each year, though. We use the heat from September through May!
