It has occurred to me that I'm always posting about various programs about the paranormal, but I've never actually posted about a show that is near and dear to my heart: Haunting Evidence, on TruTV.
You see, one of the costars of Haunting Evidence is Patrick Burns, and Patrick and his wife Pam are very dear friends of mine. I am a member of Ghost Hounds, which is Patrick's paranormal investigation team located in Atlanta, Georgia. So yes, I am biased.
But Haunting Evidence is a really good show, and unique in its approach. It is sort of a combination of Cold Case and other shows of that type, Psychic Detectives, and paranormal investigation.
In Haunting Evidence, Patrick and two psychics, John Oliver and Carla Baron, investigate cold cases to see if they can uncover evidence that may help solve the crimes. They work with law enforcement in these cases. The paranormal investigation part of the program does not get as much focus as the psychic investigation, because the show is only 30 minutes long and John and Carla often come up with a great deal of information. So Patrick also functions as the case manager and co-ordinates the team's activities.
In the shows filmed so far, at least one has been solved, and the man arrested and the evidence obtained in the arrest as well as the circumstances of the arrest all matched what John and Carla had said.
New episodes are not showing right now on Tru TV, although when the show returns in the fall, there will be new one-hour episodes. Filming has wrapped, but of course, Patrick cannot even hint as to where they went or what happened, so I don't have any inside scoop.
If you're not familiar with Haunting Evidence, and you're interested in true crime and paranormal investigation, I suggest you look for the reruns on Tru TV!
