Mimosa trees also attract hummingbirds!! We used to have one in the front yard until an ice storm took it out. We do have one in the back yard that needs to be trimmed after a neighbor's tree fell on part of it when he was cutting his tree down (IDIOT). My mom calls the blooms "clown's eyelashes"

I love mimosas! I have 2 in front of my house, that I raised from twigs. The Gardener Guy on Gardening by the Yard calls them a "nuisance tree" because they lose all those little branches in the fall, but I love them anyway. They're well worth the mess.

When I was really young, we had one of these in our yard. I wanted to go to school so badly that it hurt. Unfortunately, I wasn't old enough. I would sit in that tree for hours waiting on the bus to come by our house.
