A tornado has been sited on the other side of the city I live in. I think tornado's are scary and have been through them before and seen the damage they can do. My 7 yr old daughter heard the broadcast and now is freaking out.
They keep saying to cover yourself up with blankets or pillows. Get in the middle room of the house with no windows...I have windows in all the rooms. Now what would be an option if the tornado would come my way? Please pray that it doesn't do any damage and no one gets hurt but goes to the river and goes away. Do you know what to do in case of a tornado?
** Note - Pictures have just been added. There were taken on my camera. By my teenager.
***Note - The tornado has passed. It did some damage. Mainly wind damage. But nothing to bad. Nobody has gotten hurt.

Pull the doors shut in the hallway, (you have a hallway in your home.) sit in the hallway between the doors.
Go to the bathroom, put a comforter in the tub, get in the tub.
Don't panic, stay calm.
As they say, duck and cover. Good luck.
I hope you're safe!
thanks for posting to It's 3X the points, 3X the rewards!
Thank you all for the tips. Before when I lived up north. I always had a basement to go into. But I have never heard of basements down here in Florida.
The tornado did no damage. Thank god!
We are semi-detached but there is still no safety because the rooms are narrow.
We have only had one a few tornados where I live but they would more likely be considered storms by people who have experienced whoppers! I would probably just freak out!!

Yes, we know what to do. We get OUT! We have to evacuate every time there's a threat. Unfortunately we sometimes have to go to stores to be safe if the library/tornado shelter is not open or if there's not enough time to get there.
We did a lot of that this weekend, too. :(
I do hope that you are okay!
