and how Marsha grumbles.....
I really do not like having yard sales. They are so much work for so little money. And, I do mean, so little. In total we sold about $25 worth of junk the entire day. We were all hot, tired and still broke.
The person that made the most money was my daughters boyfriend, but he brought the "good" stuff like a vcr that sold for $5, and some computer parts and such that he was selling cheap. Second in line was earning was myself, then my grandson with some toys he put out.
Now, on a good note, NONE of the stuff is coming back in to this house. The clothing will be donated to the local clothing closet and all other items to the annual sale at our church.
I have an empty spot now here in the basement so I can move some things around and make it a bit nicer down here. However, what went out of the house is not even a drop in the bucket to the clutter around here. My mom is one of the biggest collector of unneeded items you will ever meet!
We will undoubtedly have a yard sale each summer along with the neighborhood here. We also will participate in the annual yard sale where I work (Headstart). Each year they open up the school yard to any parents and employees who want to set all up together.
I could have made SO much more money sitting down here in front of my computer. I also would not have been dripping with sweat either!
I will continue to shop yard sales looking for great deals, but right now I don't even want to think about having another one of our own!

We do the same thing when we have a yard sale- everything gets put into a truck and donated immediately.
Our daughter held one Saturday. We put a few things in it. What didn't sell was donated later that day.
Anyway, glad you are done with that yard sale. LOL
Have a great night now.
Triple Points Again Today ; )
you could freecycle your left overs:)
I think my father-inlaw probabaly has your mom beat. He has five buildings/houses that are full from the rafters to the basement. He is in the nursing home now. He is thinking he might have to start getting rid of some of it.
Sorry it didn't work out though.

I feel bad for the ones that had sales this weekend here. It's a mess with the storms we've had and it's still raining. UGH!
Triple points for you!!!
Sorry it did not work out so well for you :(
Wasting a whole day on something you don't even like doing is not worth it.
My tip would be to clear it out and if you can do it via headstart - then do it that way.
Don't wait for the next yeardsale - just get rid of it.
It feels so good to get your space and your place back in order.
I would probably not be able to sell any of my junk. Even if I took the day off to sell.
I wish you all the luck in the world for next year!
Yard Sales take planning and consideration. If you really have in your mind what you expect to make from the yard sale, you'll get it.
But if you would have made more on the computer without the sweat and toil Marsha ~ Then you know what to do!
Blessings ~
Rene
We have a method- we do the sale, and with the leftovers, we post on freecycle, and whatever is still leftover, we take to charity.
