Last night, it was humid and hot. Then, the winds picked up, and it started to drizzle. After the drizzle came hard rain. After the hard rain came even harder rain, and winds ripping through the area at 80+ miles per hour.
We had a heck of a time with our windows in the complex last night- in fact, all of the windows in the kids rooms, plus the slider in the living room started pouring water in through them. In the living room, it was from the top of the slider. We scrambled around to get towles, then checked the kids rooms.
In their rooms, the water was pouring in from the bottom, where we couldn't put dishes or buckets to catch the water. We soaked through almost a dozen towels, before swapping out and soaking some more. During all of this, the wind was wicked, as was the thunder and lightening.
It calmed down, and continued to rain all night, but the wicked wind died down and when it did, the windows stopped leaking, though the door still leaked a bit. Not much, but enough.
This morning, we woke up to blue skies, and a broken cable box. It got fried in the storm. :( While I was on the phone with the cable company, we found that the tree in front of our apartment was ripped out of the ground. This wasn't a small tree- it's a pine tree that is taller than the 3 story building we live in. It miraciously missed hitting the building, or any power lines.
After looking at it from the outside, i'm noticing that it ripped off some trim on the roof, and the gutters from up there. It landed resting against some windows, but it didn't break any. I can't get behind it, but I think it landed on top of the AC units for the 3 middle apartments (ours is at the end of the building).
Here's some images!

I am glad you guys are alright. When do you get to move out of the apt. and into the new home? Hopefully, you won't have to deal with anymore leaky windows until then!!!
We had a big pine nearly hit our house a few years ago. Scary!
After all of the trees started blooming, I noticed this one large tree just a few feet from the front porch wasn't getting any leaves. Eventually, when all the trees were in bloom, I mentioned to my landlord that I thought the tree was dead. He agreed, but had not gotten around to doing anything about it. Last night's storm brought it down.
I'd send a picture if I knew how to put a pic in a comment. Fortunately for me, it fell toward the street and not the house.

I just got back from the store, and got a chance to drive around the complex. This was the only tree to come down, but there were a lot of branches all over the place, and there's a fence that separates a trailer park from the complex, and it has a LOT of sections down all over.
I noticed a young tree ripped right in half on the way to the store, too. The trunk just snapped in half. I may have to drive around and take storm damage pictures today!
eeek! what a horrible storm!!

I hope there was no damage to your house!
