Go time is comming, and i'm litterally asking for it!! (moms, plz read)

yep, I talked it over with my boyfriend and my mom, and when i go into the doctor on Thursday, i'm going to ask if i can be induced either Friday or next Monday (preferably friday so that he'll be here maybe just in time for Father's day), and i know it doesnt always work, but hey, what do i have to loose? He's already tipping the 9 lb scale, I'll be 39 weeks thrusday (exactly one week before my due date), i'm still getting real sick all the time and can only eat a few things, and i'm still getting dehydrated! i drink like 14 nestle pure lifes a day, SO WHAT THE HECK??? anyone have any stories about being induced?

I was induced with my last 3. Everything went perfect for me!

I am inducing June 26th If I make it to then!

Friday is Friday the 13th.. did you notice that? It would be cool to deliver that day..

Good luck!! I bet your dr will expecially if hes measuring so big! Mine is measduring 2 weeks big too thats part of why I am inducing again.. my last was 2 weeks ealry and he weighed 8lbs 8 oz.

Krystal, I was induced with my son last July. The doctor said he was going to be 9+ (he was #2 and my first was 9.5 lbs) and THEN I went a week past my due date. I had heard so many horror stories, but my induction went great!

I spent like 8 hours at the hospital before I finally went into labor, but it wasn't bad at all. My doctor induced me with the cream/suppository on the cervix, and it took three applications to get things going. I was afraid of pitocin, and this way I didn't have to get an iv hooked up until I was officially in labor.

aaaaah... i'm not afraid of Pitocin, because our bodies naturally produce it throught pregnancy, so its just a "boost", and if anything does go wrong, hey, c-section is just fine, as long as he's healthy :)

and no, i didnt even realize it was friday the 13th!! lol. that would be awsome!!! and knowing my luck i just might go into labor that day on my own! lol. that would be funny and great!

I was induced with my first baby. I still wonder whether he was actually ready when he was born. i think he needed another week to simmer, lol.

I was induced with #1 and #2, and am trying to avoid it with #3. Before you ask for induction, try out all of the natural induction methods... you can Google 'em. I didn't have a hard time with Pitocin, but for some women, it's a VERY big deal and it makes labor outrageously painful and unpleasant. :) Just a thought! But I hear ya - I'll have to decide if I want to be induced come this Thursday, too. It's tempting.

My doctor wouldn't let me induce until they thought I was ready, which made me angry cuz I was ready @ the end of March and she wasn't born until the end of April. But, they predicted Mikaela to be 10 lbs 11 oz cuz I was measuring so big. They actually did an ultrasound the day before my induction was scheduled to check her size. So they scheduled me for induction, but then the doctors & I decided a c-section was the best route for her size. I tried every method of natural induction I found and none of them worked for me.

1 of my 6 children was induced. They gave me the shot twice and it still didn't work. They said they would give it to me one more time and then send me home.
They gave the 3rd shot. Within 2 minutes I had a pain and told them it was coming out. At that time they put you on a guerny and took you to the delivery room. They lifte me to the guerny immidiately and ran down the hall. As they lifted me onto the delivery table the 3 pain pushed the baies full head out (face up) and the Dr ran into the room in time to finish the job. It was my only boy ... the other 5 were girls. I knew right awa that boys were different :)

well, luckly, i've been to the maternity ward so many times i know the regular routine going in there, and they've explained how it would go if i was induced, and the different ways, and i would be induced and deliver in the same room :D the pain is so bad now that i need it...

I was induced when I had my first daughter. She started having trouble with her heart, so the doctor felt this was the best thing to do. Glad my other 2 were scheduled c-sections!!!
