While on Gather, you can have a lesson finding out where each person lives, distances involved from places you are more familiar with, etc. I am always interested in where people live, why they decided to live there if it isn't their place of birth, what interests them about the area, etc.
I have lived in a few places in Ontario and Germany because my ex-husband was military. London is where I lived as a child and where I returned when he was leaving the military and again after living for a number of years in Kitchener-Waterloo (nearby cities about halfway between London and Toronto).
Now my Son is travelling for his job and he has gone to a number of cities in Ontario. Some I knew, some I only vaguely knew the location and some I've had to look up. You get a different perspective when he is gone for a week and eating out and exploring the places.
A month or two ago he was in Edmonton Alberta. Provincial capital, where my niece and one nephew live and their children and where I have visited a few times.
Last two weeks he was in Calgary Alberta. Home of the famous Stampede, my eldest nephew and oil money. He got to go to Banff where he had gone to Army Cadets a "few" years ago. Also went up to Edmonton for the wedding reception of my niece's eldest daughter. In all it worked out well for him.
This week he is off to Salluit, Quebec. Only has to go to 8 airports to get there. I for
got to ask him how long it is suppose to take. He loves taking pictures so hopefully I can get some for you.
Weather network is saying it will be below 32F for the next few days and they could get some snow. Quebec is the French language province but phone machines in Salluit give you messages in French, English and Inuit.
The marking for the town is below the word "he". Montreal and Quebec City are at the bottom of the map near the U.S. border.
My ex and my "new" son-in-law have been further north but I am enjoying the contrast of Calgary and Salluit.
Oh, by the way, he is going up there to teach someone how to sell stamps. Don't you just love it!

I'm still waiting for him to send me pictures of Mary ... from like 2 years ago
Have seen a few but no really good one. Maybe it is too late for that.
He won't be able to try a lot of different restaurants nor walk too far so maybe if you email or Facebook him he'll have time to send some pictures.
