Homemade Soap - the benefits

Are you thinking of creating you own Soap? Why not just go into the local market and buy them. Much cheaper than trying to make your own, and it can't be good for your skin.

Homemade soap has got many benefits over your commercial soaps. And of course, it always is so much nicer using something that you've made and can be proud of.

One of the major problems with most commercial soaps is that they remove the Glycerine that is created, to sell it off as a seperate product. Now, the thing is Glycerine is a natural humectant. This means it attracts moisture to the skin. There is nothing more irritating that having just finished a shower, and the soap you used dried out your skin. Homemade soap will solve that problem for you right then and there.

Another nice little benefit with making your own soaps, is that you decide what goes in there and what doesn't. From adding nice fragrances to molding your soaps, makes them perfects gifts. And if you have a sensitive skin, then you can decide which ingredients to work with to create that ultimate soap that leaves you feeling clean, soft and fresh.

Now the main ingredients needed in these soaps are: Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) also know as Lye,  Animal Fat, Various Oils

Most of these products can be found at your local grocery store and pharmacies. What will amaze you, is that by making your own soap, it can actually turn out cheaper than buying the finished commercial product.

But, that being said. Even though soap making is relatively easy, it can be dangerous. So before jumping in, make sure you know what you're doing, and that you are taking all the necesary safety precautions.

All in all, making you own soap can be fun and rewarding experience.
