I never even look, Carl. Since the Hawthorne incident, I have been trying to find the people I lost and used to read - I noticed the other day I had some pings and can you believe some of them were from Christmas - I am just so busy trying to read and comment, I haven't noticed. Sorry, I'm sure that was no help at all but it was honest. lol

You can edit any article, and remove the tags. But, they may still show up on your side bar, not sure.

Profile views just means how many people have viewed your profile.

i have many many profile views.....many more than comments on my stuff...
my tags are like the extra pounds i gained once i hit thirty.....they like me too much to leave me...ever..

I really don't know the answer to either question. I know how many times I have viewed my profile but not others. Can't help. Sorry.

The only way I can think of to remove the tags is to go and remove them individually from the articles, images, etc. that have them.

I have 2,328 profile views right now.

I asked Gather once about how to get rid of the tags that remain in the box as you are publishing an article and I was told there is no way.

Sometimes I like the feature because you can click on other areas and your computer remembers whatever words you have typed, as a browser does.
The tags eventually replace older words with the newer ones you have used. Just have to pay a bit more attention in order to notice.

I have 221 profile views and I have no clue how to drop the old tags, but that is a great question. If you should find out how Publish it!

No clue. I quit using them because of that. They didn't seem to be any benefit. Sometimes I use them, but not often. Most of my writing is like all over the place with no generic theme or 'tag'.

I don't know, but as a previous article mentioned, you will probably have your tags tagging along until they're eventually replaced by newer ones. Now, isn't that encouraging! Have a blessed day, anyway! (:o)

Don't know too much about the technical stuff on Gather. I just try to look, read and comment as much as possible. I do forget about the pings and just discovered that I have quite a few. Sorry to my pinging friends.

That's not too bad for about 15 months. I've been at a writing site since 2001 and have 16,000 views to my portfolio and 10,000 to my blog.
