I love hating It's A Small World and for this reason alone visit it first whenever I'm at the Magic Kingdom.

Oh god...that ride was a living hell for me....I was traumatized by that ride.

My parents to my sister and I to Disneyland when I was in 6th grade. My father and I ended up in one boat and my mother and sister in another. Well about halfway through the ride the the boat my father and I were in became stuck.

We sat there for over 30 minutes while employees tried to get it moving on the track again but something was wrong with the boat itself. The two guys who were working on it told us they'd be right back and admonished us to "stay in the boat." Then they shuffled off through the water. The constant relooping of the song "It's a Small World After All" was driving everyone batty.

My father sat there for another 15 minutes but he just couldn't take it anymore. After over an hour, the high-pitched childish voices were too much too bear. He jumped over the side of the boat and pulled me out with him and we shuffled back to the entryway.

We then had to walk around the other side. My mother and sister had been anxiously waiting for us at the egress. To my mother's questions my father replied, "I don't want to talk about it. " I think he had PTSD from it.

It was absolutely horrible. The incident still haunts my nightmares.

i love the song from Small World... so much so that I bought the Disney watch at disneyworld that plays that song!! it's the alarm on the watch and one day during a job interview I was horrified when the alarm on MY watch went off and played It'S a Small World...... Last time I wore that watch to a job interview!

You'd think Disney would some special "STUCK ON RIDE" emergency crew. What happened to De sounded SO incompetent.

WoW! I had no idea. I like that ride!

They used to have a version of that ride at Kings Island, then they changed it to Smurfs. I loved riding by and waving at the smurfs. If it's still there I will ride it again and afterwords I'll have a pepsi.

Interesting piece of trivia. I remember that ride on my first visit to Disneyland in fl. I was disappointed. The dolls were dusty and sounded like they had sung the song one too many times. Actually I was disappointed in the whole park. I had dreamed for years of visiting Disneyland since childhood. And when I finally got to go, my dreams were dashed. It wasn't anything like I had imagined. The rides were so antique, and rather boring. And they played that song over and over during thier parades. I heard the one in Cali, is much better. Perhaps one day I'll get to check that out.
