Do you think it is possible?

Do you think it is possible to make a living online?  I write for a number of websites, it's what I love to do.  I started doing this about a year and a half ago.  It's not a get rich quick thing, but with the number of articles and reviews I have on there I think within the next year I would be making at my full time retail job.  Mostly because of page views, but I am online a lot writing.  I never set a goal out to be rich, I just wanted enough money to survive.  And, I work my butt off for it being on the computer all the time.  But, the money isn't all about it, I just like making a profit with something I love to do.

 

But, do you think there is people out there making their living online?

There probably are, but I'm sure they are hired to write on blogs, boards and such as well.

There are a great many people who have found ways to make a living just from working on the internet. I wish I could take the leap and do it myself, but I don't think I can give up a perfectly good job to speculate. Good luck though!

I'm sure there are, wish one of them was me. I sell my crochet designs on line, it's usually hit & miss.

It is possible but I don't think it's as easy as what some of them make it out to be. Diane do you use ebay to sell your product?

I spend way too much time working on an article when I write. I usually put in two or three hours on each piece. From the money I make when I publish on Gather, I average about a quarter an hour. I don't even write on BT and I make around $3 an hour for the 35 minutes I out in there daily. I used to sell specialized items on e-Bay...and definitely made enough, and then some, to make a living.

That's good to know that it is possible Rob. I am really not into selling and such, not a lot of luck on eBay, but I guess writing is just my passion. I guess if you are doing something you love it really doesn't matter if you are rich doing it. But, I need enough to survive.

Yes, I have heard of tons of people who do. It just takes time, also it takes time to find the right sites for each to their own.

I believe that anybody can.

Sarah~ thanks for the motivation. I would love to be able to do it, and like I said before I have been working on it for the last year and a half. I will eventually get there, I hope!

A lot of people make their living blogging. It takes a good couple of monthes to get established, but from their the profits only grow.

Sure, there are quite afew people who make their money online, you just have to be lucky enough to get the right offers to get paid for doing certain things (like blogs, which were previously mentioned).

Leanne, while I am not living high on the hog, I am doing pretty well with ChaCha. I made $500 with them last month and then when you add on all of the other stuff like Gather, other articles, blogs, etc. I cleared almost $1000. (Most in cash, but a few were GCs)

With ChaCha, people text in questions and you use your PC to answer them and send them back. The questions run the gamut from weather, sports scores, definitions, to goofy teenage questions. You are paid 20 cents a search. It sounds like peanuts, but it adds up quickly.

Of course it's possible. But then, there are a lot of schemes that reel people in offering large amounts of money, but then prove to be financially fruitless or even result in cash flow the wrong way.

I would consider joining one of those 'paid' blogging sites myself if I could only get my creative 'juices' flowing adequately for that. So far, Gather has only paid me in Gather Points™, which have been useless to me so far, as I don't shop the stores offering us gift cards.

You definitely can make a living online, although realistically you have to be someone who does not need too much to survive on and cannot expect to have much leftover to put into savings at least not until you get very well established (say 5 to 10 years down the line you could have a nice steady income from a blog and even have enough to properly save for the future). I personally make about 75% of my spending budget online each month and my kind of regular babysitting job pays the other 25% and months when I get a lot of hours I have money to put away in short and long term savings.

It is out there but very hard. My wife had been able to bring in a little extra when she was at home with the kids. It did help.

There are people that do on their on store site and ebay selliing, etc. so I guess the answer is yes if you spend a lot of time on the net!
