The Mathematics of Emotion

Note: I did not post this to any groups because posting to groups is so time consuming! We need to implement a feature that allows us to put groups into categories like our connections. Will make life so much easier.













Love is like arithmetic
You put two people together
And their good qualities are supposed to add up
Anger is like subtraction
You take all the fun out of life
And you remove all joy from existence
Let's move on
Happiness is like multiplication
Because it spreads exponentially
Especially if you throw in a random smile
And then it's like cubing over and over again
And hate
Hate is like division
Because you slice people up into tiny pieces
And nobody really benefits
Betrayal is like a randomly placed negative sign
Because you never expected it
And it takes away from your life
And sometimes without you noticing it
Emotions slowly change into each other
Before you realize what's happening
Your life's equation has mutated into a very long list
Of numbers and figures and symbols
And after all, when you get down to it,
Emotion is just that
