The word "achievement" means different things to different people. It is NOT a definition of success, but there is definitely a relationship between the two. The dictionary says achievement is something accomplished, but I think it is much more than just that. Take a look at what some famous people have to say about achievement:

- Be more dedicated to making solid achievements than in running after swift but synthetic happiness. Abdul Kalam (former president of India)
- There is no great achievement that is not the result of patient working and waiting. Josiah Gilbert Holland (novelist and poet)
- The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual. Vince Lombardi (football coach)
- The greatest achievement of the human spirit is to live up to one's opportunities and make the most of one's resources. Marquis de Vauvenargues (French moralist, essayist, and writer)
- If you think about disaster, you will get it. Brood about death and you hasten your demise. Think positively and masterfully, with confidence and faith, and life becomes more secure, more fraught with action, richer in achievement and experience. Swami Vivekananda (Hindu monk from India)
- The size of your accomplishments, the quality of your achievement, will depend very largely on how big a man you see in yourself, what sort of image you get of your possible self, yourself at your best. Orison Swett Marden (author of success and motivation books)
- Achievement is not always success, while reputed failure often is. It is honest endeavor, persistent effort to do the best possible under any and all circumstances. Orison Swett Marden (author of success and motivation books)
- Death comes to all, but great achievements build a monument which shall endure until the sun grows cold. Ralph Waldo Emerson (essayist, philosopher, and poet)
- Personal relationships are the fertile soil from which all advancement, all success, all achievement in real life grows. Ben Stein (attorney, political figure, and entertainment personality)
- Success has always been easy to measure. It is the distance between one's origins and one's final achievement. Michael Korda (novelist)

I love this one. Reminds me of the quote that I borrowed from somewhere and always use "Stretch your resources to FIT your VISION!" It inspires me to take risks and to go for it!
