Obama and McCain: The Battle Begins

After a prolonged primary season, Democratic Senator Barack Obama and Republican Senator John McCain are now their parties' presumptive nominees for president. This week, Word for Word spotlights the speeches they made at the close of the primary season on June 3rd, when Sen. McCain re-launched his campaign just outside New Orleans, and Sen. Obama laid claim to his party's nomination in St. Paul, Minn.

Senator John McCain:

"The direction of this country is going to change dramatically, but the choice is between the right change and the wrong change; between going forward and going backward."

Senator Barack Obama:

"There are many words to describe John McCain's attempt to pass off his embrace of George Bush's policies as bi-partisan and new, but 'change' is not one of them."

McCain = more of the same. He doesn't know the meaning of the word change. He's married to the lobby machine.

Obama wants "change", he just doesn't want to tell you what kind and who will pay for it.
Maybe if we ask his associates they can tell us. Oh, wait, we can't ask Rezko, he's in jail. How about Wright, but no, he threw Wright under the bus.

Now Obama's real pandering will begin. We already see it. He tried to talk his way to the Jewish vote, but he's already flip flopped on that.
