What Is This World Coming To?

Yesterday I saw something on the news that made my stomach turn.  The security officer at a recycling center that is about a block away from my house was murdered; shot in the head over copper.  About $6000 worth.  They knew that they couldnt get their hands on it if he was there so they just took it upon themselves to end his life for the almighty dollar.  They police have someone the are questioning who just so happens to be a former employee of that same recycling center.  In my opinion that is insulting considering the officer probably KNEW his murderer.  The man was taking care of his sick brother, cooking for him, taking him to dialysis, and driving him around...now what?  I know things are bad, but are they so bad that people have to KILL for money?  I know it happens all the time, dont get me wrong, but I guess this one hits home with me a little.  You would think that in the year 2008 society would be progressing, not regressing.  I dont know....Guess I just needed to vent a little....
