I have so many friends and connections here on gather, but only very few comment my things... :( help me help you, comment me on here, about a sentance long, and i'll comment you back on soemthing you've written, even if its old! yes, i will search thru old ones just to find the right one :) i really need points... :( i'm about 1,000 something away from the 50$ homedepot card, help me out, please!!! :D

Sometimes I just randomly go around commenting on non-connections articles and often they return the favor. Fortunately I seem to have great connections who keep commenting like crazy! Gotta love them!
Anyway, here's a comment for ya and a 10 too. Good luck getting the gift card!

Some people read what you have to say, but feel they have nothing to add, so they don't comment. You still get 'credit' for them looking at your posts even if they don't leave their thoughts. One good thing I've learned, though...you're never alone on Gather. I don't get discouraged. I have almost 1,100 connections and sometimes only get 50 comments on an article; less than 5% response. I'm happy if I've touched just one person and they respond. And if I've I've made a difference in someone's life with what I have to offer; that one comment makes my effort writing worthwhile.

I mostly comment on photos, that's a good way to get your points up fast.

I only have about 260ish connections and I don't get a huge number of comments on most things.. but I get pretty good points, so people must be looking and not commenting a lot of the time. Comments are always nice though..once you get to the triple points on Friday your points should pick up...for a week anyway..that will get you there faster.
It is the same for me. I have over 700 connections, but it is the same core group of connections that typically comment on my content. It's ok, it doesn't bother me.

Did you see that we have the triple points starting on Friday? That will really get your points up there!

Yeah, sorry if I don't regularly comment on your stuff. I tend to view a whole lot more than I actually comment on in general, so you're likely still getting page views....but I know that's not the same as getting feedback. Sorry. :(

most of the time i couldnt, but i'm getting extra time before the baby gets here, then i'lll be busy with that all the time... but i'm gonna always try to make room for gather. my boyfriend has been wanting to be a computer hog, and i finally got it in his head how badly we need these gift cards, so i'm getting the extra time now... and he's might be getting a job working 8 am -5 pm, so i can use that time for me on gather!! yay!

I understand what you mean. I publish content and it seems that people rarely look at it or comment it, but I try to comment on people's articles and images. I hope you can get that gift card!

Here is a comment...I try to make my way around, but with working full time, a father with Alzheimers, and other obligations...as much as I love Gather...there are times it takes a back seat.....doesn't mean I don't still find you extremely interesting though...:)

I think this happens to all of us! 

I try to comment all those who comment on my stuff.  It does get old, though, when you go out of your way to leave a sincere comment and/or compliment and have nothing in return.  I'm pretty busy myself, with 4 little ones,  homeschooling, helping hubby run his business and all of the volunteer work I do, not to mention my sewing. Yet I make time (sometimes middle of the night!) to read and comment when and where I can.

I don't feel "unpopular" when I don't get a ton of comments, I just assume that everyone is busy themselves.

hope you garnered enough to get your card. (saw a Link to this in the margin, and trust me: i know how you feel. but, y'know...if Gather's not a huge chunk of your life...at least for a season...it's likely that you'll never form enough tight bonds to acquire lengthy Threads. not regularly.

heck: i feel lucky if i get ten Comments. because i suck.)
