I am so impressed with everyone at Gather, who post articles and pictures, and particularly photo essays, that I decided it was time I had a go. I would love to show you pictures of England, especially Warwickshire, where I live now, and Yorkshire, where I grew up. So I decided to buy a digital camera. The nearest I have been to photography is using a throw away camera, and taking it into the chemist, leaving it all to them. Anyway I went to the camera shop last Friday, and had a look. They were very helpful, letting me have a go with the cameras of my choice. True to form the one I chose was not in stock, but they rang the warehouse and said there were plenty in stock, they ordered the one I wanted and said they would email me when it arrived. It came on Monday, and I picked it up on Tuesday, so I thought I was well on my way. I decided to have a quick look at the instructiuns, HA HA HA! The instructoin manual is so thick, loads and loads of instructions! What ever happened to point and press? I put it all back in the box to look at later.
So I guess my days as a photographer are still a long way off! I don't know how you all do it, but I'll get there one day. In the meantime the instruction book is very useful for standing on to reach the top shelf in my cupboards!
Wish me luck!
