Unhappy with Giant Tiger

For those who don't know, Giant Tiger is a well known discount store in Canada.  A firend of mine was in Giant Tiger the other day, she did some shopping and was leaving the store when all of sudden, in the parking lot she heard 2 of the clerks yelling at someone, making accusations about stealing  a purse from the store and threatening to call security when she realized they were yelling at her!  Screaming at the top of their lungs how she was a thief and they were going to have her arrested etc etc.  Now we're not talking just a little "out of the way" store, this place is in a very busy area of the city with all sorts of stores around and a lot of people around to witness this.  These 2 clerks demanded to search her purse because they "knew she stole it from their store" and when my friend said she didn't, she bought it at sears and that Giant Tiger doesn't even carry it, they still searched her purse, when they realized they made a mistake all they said was "oh i guess you didn't" and left her standing in the parking lot mortified!  She's a very easily intimidated person and when they demanded to search her purse she just handed it over cause they scared the heck out of her.  Leaving the parking lot she almost got into a car accident because she was crying so badly.  Later that evening she had the manager from the store call her to apologize and ask if there was anything they could do blah blah blah.  I'm still waiting to see how they handle it before I'll even consider returning to that store because if they don't fire those 2 clerks immediately then I'll never return it, ever!!  These clerks had no reason to accuse her of stealing since they don't even carry the purse in question and secondly screaming across a parking lot isn't the way to handle that type of situation, if they had security then that's their job to handle.
