Cucumbers will not grow good in a hanging basket. The cukes would get too heavy and break off the vines. They need to crawl on the ground or put them in a large container. They also have bush cucumber plants now. They don't vine and produce alot of cukes.

If you could it would be nice, maybe it keep the bugs off of them. How about hnging it close to the ground maybe.

We have hanging strawberry plants but that is my only experience with hanging veggie plants! SOrry I can't help!

My cucumbers are not turning out very good this year. I have a lot of plants but they are not getting long and firm, just stubby and peeled kinda spongy. The PH in my soil has changed so much. Plus I planted them in full sun and they usually do better with mostly shade.

I so want to know how these turn out for you and your friend! My soil is all sand, so I grow almost everything in containers. I have been afraid to try anything vine-like in containers.

I hope you get some good cucumbers this year. I never realized cucumbers did better in shade. I have always planted them in full sun.
