We took the kids fishing... A photo essay

Every year wit hthe help of The Idaho Department of Fish & Game, our town offers a FREE day of fishing for all the children in our area.  The Idaho Department of Fish & Game stocks the creek running through the city park with fish for the event with over 1000 trout. During the event hand outs and prizes are given to participating children.  Each child was allowed to catch 2 fish!  And ours each caught their two fish!

 

Saturday morning we woke up and it was pouring down rain but that didn't stop us from taking the kids fishing.  We just put on an axtra layer of clothes, grabbes their new fishing poles and headed to the creek!  My parents, my brother, Stephy's best friend and her mom, hubby, the kids and I all loaded up in two seperate cars.

They have a day like that here where every one can fish without a license for one day. Haven't heard when that will be this year. I never go but wouldn't catch anything anyway, never do when I go fishing.

I swore off fishing the last time I went and a water moccasin bit my fish on the stringer and then tried to come up on the bank and visit me.

Looks like they had a great time! They have a free fishing day here as well. It was this past Saturday but we didn't make it this year as my hubby didn't get off work til 3am so he was sleeping.

He took the boys last year and Conner (3 then) caught the biggest fish!

And Stephy caught a fish too but I don't blame her for not wanting
to touch it, I never did always had gloves on to take it off the hook.
