Love Beads

Does anyone remember Love Beads? Does anyone have any photos wearing the Love Beads? I know that I would love to see them and I am sure that there are lot of others out there in Gather land that would love to see them again. They were special and had meaning that was felt in the very center of your heart. Don't you wish you still had them or could still get them? The best ones were made for you by someone you loved. Do you have any special memories or any recollection of Love Beads? I'm sure we would love to hear about any and all of it. Come on, who are you saving those memories for? Dust off the cobwebs and lets see those pics. Hey man, let's get those Love Beads out. What would John Lennon do?

I am saving some items for my grand daughters I have an old purse, a jacket, and some jewelery form the era

I had several strings -- and I do not have a single picture that shows them! I still have my peace symbol bracelet though! I'll haul it out and take a picture if I can find it!

I can't BELIEVE all the people who are saying they never heard of LOVE BEADS!! OMG!! I've never stopped wearing mine... I strung my first love beads when I was about 12 and I was 55 this last March...

Here is my collection (I keep them on a rotating "tie rack" in the bathroom):

I made my first love beads in the mid 1960's. I still have one set (orange, white, red, black with silver). Sorry, but I don't have a photo of me wearing them.

I think I still have a photo of me wearing my Cher inspired outfit (flower patterned bell bottoms and a poor boy sweater) from 1965 or '66! Wow, I thought I was hot! LOL

I guess the love beads are made by someone that you love or loves you. They were from the 60's, so I'm not sure if they held some other meaning or not.

Of course, I had some love beads! My favorite item from that era was my patched jeans. The more colorful and artistic the better. I also had a painted denim shirt, a headband, bell bottoms, peasant blouse. Oh, so many fashions I loved. I was really a child of the 70s, a tag-along wanna-be hippie. Let's bring back the overalls, the midrift shirt, the love beads. I love them all!
