Too often we forget about the service soldiers have provided to our country. They've given us the opportunity to live in freedom. Let's REMEMBER and never forget. That's why the Gather Editorial Team has chosen the following entry as the grand prize winner:
Johnny gave his life for his country, even though he lives on
Gather member Richard Owl Mirror has reminded us to never forget our soldiers and to appreciate them everyday. He will receive a $100 AMEX gift card.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed articles to Support Veterans and supported Paralyzed Veterans of America!
The winner of the contest and the top 10 finalists can be found here on the Paralyzed Veterans of America website:

I have been away for a few days and just discovered this today.
It makes me feel good to know my words and thoughts have moved so many readers here on gather.
Thank you again, Richard
Message: Congratulations!
You were selected as the grand prize winner of the Honor a Soldier contest in the Support Veterans group by the Gather Editorial Team.
You've won a $100 AMEX gift card.
Please provide a full name and mailing address to claim your prize.
After having initially supplied the required info and waiting, I have yet to receive any further word on this $100 AMEX gift card.
I have written Speedy 3 times now and can't even get a response to my inquiry although I notice he has logged on continuously. Perhaps he doesn't check his email ?
Anyways, I thought I should post this comment since Speedy may conduct other contests and those winners may also be expecting the promised prize.
What makes matters worse is I'm living on half a jar of peanut butter and a loaf of bread. Sure could have used that $100 AMEX gift card.
I must say I'm very disappointed, no contact forthcoming, no replies to my e-mails. (yet)
You should have been notified by the email address you use to register. Is this correct? If someone sent you an in-site message, it was most likely a scam.
Best,
