I don't use tap water in my baby's bottle at all, but he does have flouride in his infant vitamins (issued by the pediatrician).
Thanks for sharing!
The reason for putting it there is pretty simple, and it has been around for a LONG time: money.
Fluoride that is put in drinking water is derived from a waste product that accumulates in the Aluminum industry. So this could either be worthless waste, or it could be converted to $$$s, if someone could be persuaded that it's healthy/valuable.
So that is what lobbyists are paid to do...
The issue has been around since I was a little girl, at least, growing up in California.
Fluoride added to drinking water was poison then, and it is poison now. Besides which it is extremely wasteful, because most of that drinking water isn't drunk. Even if you think it's a good idea: do you need to wash your clothes, shower, do your dishes and flush the toilet with fluoride?
There is a profound difference between the fluoride that occurs naturally in water in some areas of the country and adding this stuff, which may be chemically the same but whose origin is vastly different.
