Peterborough Ontario ... I love our place here, and that was my first reaction ...but the lack of a full university is a pain in the butt...
Ohio....That is where I am orginally from and dearly miss it.

short term - Japan - it is such an old country with history out the kazoo. long - term - any old mountain top with a country store at corner where I would turn to go home. ~j

Wow, interesting answers. Kristina, I'm with you. Not here. Somewhere with an ocean, somewhere exotic like Ireland or Barbados.

I'd like to live all over--I'm kind of a nomad and been here too long. I would mind going native likeyou Mary.

As an Ohioan myself Sandy, I was very disappointed going back. Seems like you can't go home again, alas.

I do love the Pacific Northwest and MayHill Farm is a bit of heaven. You can smell the green, the eagles soar over by day and the owls stand guard by night. My sheep graze the pasture and a canopy of stars entertain us at night. It is a gift I treasure highly and I cannot think of another place on earth that I would rather live. Visit...that is different. I would love to visit Wales someday.

I've never been to the Pacific northwest but I've always wanted to go. And the panhandle of Florida is dandy with me. I live in Tallahassee and would go right back.

Hmmm. Do I have to pick one place? When I'm retired, I'd love to hop from place to place. I love North Carolina. We used to do family reunions there. I loved living in Florida - Gulf coast or central. Hmmm. That would be a place to stay for a while. I miss Bok Tower Gardens. I loved living in Texas - about an hour south of Houston. Also in a town about 40 miles west of Dallas/Ft. Worth...but as cute as the town was, there are a few bad memories.

Guess I'm chattering on now. I'd like to spend some time in bunches of places. Maybe someday...

In my garden and in a log cabin deep in the forest, with just a little mini lake nearby and a little seaside cottage, in a place like South Beach, Miami.
One and two give me the peace and quiet I crave and three gives me the turbulence, fun atmosphere, people, party, shopping and lots of art influences that I need to energize my life.

Heaven. But here on earth I guess I would pick Texas. Its hot there but my asthma was at my best when my fam lived there.
