In this poem, I use the word 'holiday' rather than vacation. It worked better for me, but it's all the same. :)
---------------------
The bathtub's overflowing; water's running down the stairs,
The hallway on the second floor is lined with teddy bears,
One child is crying, there's gum all in her hair,
The other's saying, "Mom, it wasn't me, I swear."
Hubby just got home from work and supper isn't done,
I can't believe he has the nerve to say, "Where's my meal, hun?"
The bills are on the table, still waiting to be paid,
And there goes that old dog again, he spilled my lemonade!
There's clothes to do and pans to wash and the baby wants to play;
Is it just me, or do you think I need a holiday?
