My grocery shopping trip

Other people's great deals while they are out grocery shopping always inspire me to save a little bit more, even if it means hunting down coupons and discounts for days.

Today I went out with the sole purpose of getting ice cream. I love Breyers, and it hardly ever goes on sale...so off to Food Lion I go, specifically for ice cream. While I'm there trying to find the giant freezer section, I grab some bread, canned corn and a head of lettuce.

So now for the register part: I get up there, unload it all, 4 tubs of Breyer's Ice Cream($4.89 each regular price), A head of lettuce($1.89 regular price), bread($1.29) and corn($.89), and a thing of au gratin potatoed($1.49). My total came to $20.25. If you total all that up, I basically bought the ice  cream and  got the rest of it for free. All of this was from the store sales. I looked at the circular and saw the ice cream, then looked at the rest of the stuff I needed and got the lowest price.

While this is not a huge accomplishment, I used no coupons and still managed to get a great deal. Now if I could just get my coupon saving skills up, I could do so much better. All of you who post of your great deals with coupons and store sales, keep on posting, you give me inspiration to save more and more!
