One of the things DH and I really like to do is visit some of the wonderful resorts and timeshares here in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They have the most beautiful landscaping and scenery, perfect for getting some good photos. Wednesday we decided to stop by one about 15 minutes from home and here. These are taken with my old camera that I keep in the car for these spur of the moment stops, which is a Canon PowerShot A75. It doesn't take great photos but it's good in a pinch.
A lot of the flowers and trees I see are new to me since I've only lived here for five months now, so I tend to go a little crazy clicking away. I hope you enjoy the views as much as I did. It's amazing how much you can see in 15 minutes or so. This was a really pretty place but a little out of my price range for a vacation. OK, maybe a lot!
Pool area looking out over the Atlantic Ocean.

As you can see, this is a very large pool.

This is the courtyard overlooking the pool and ocean. It rained Tuesday night so the chairs were under the overhang.

Aren't these nice? (I'm getting to the flowers and landscaping, honest.)

This gives you an idea of how big this courtyard is. We didn't travel through the whole building because I really wanted some photos of the landscape too, but it looks like there are a few outdoor courtyards like this.

One of the sitting areas inside.
I know you all want to see the flowers - so here we go:
The magnolias are blooming right now and they are gorgeous. Magnolia trees are everywhere. We even have two outback and a few throughout our development. We have seen some that must be pretty old because they are huge, about 20 feet tall I would guess and covered with flowers and blooms. I took these photos at the resort.

Magnolia Bud.

A medium sized magnolia bush in bloom. The blooms turn brown when they die -

It's still so pretty to me though.
These next photos are some of the plants and flowers throughout the grounds of this beautiful resort.

Pretty pink flowers.

I thought this was a pretty mix.

I really liked these purple flowers too. They remind me a little of petunias, but they aren't.

I see these a lot in Myrtle beach, very pretty red flowers.
Looks like this lily got beaten down by the rain, but still pretty.

I really like tiny, dainty flowers.

I thought these leaves were beautiful.

Behind the bushes was a little water activity area but I couldn't get a clear view.

These photos are a favorite, something I've never seen before and I think they are so pretty.

So in closing I'll end with a few more pretty photos of Magnolia blossoms.

Last one! Hope you liked the tour. So if you're ever bored, hop in the car and go visit some place you've never been before. You never know what's hiding just up the road a bit.

I don't know all the flowers either since I'm in a northern clime. I do know the first shot of the pink flowers are pentas and the red flowering bush is oleander. I believe the orange tubular flower is freesia.
I especially love the first and last shot of the magnolias. Nice job! They are one of my favorite flowers to photograph.
Beautiful photos! I love the flower shots you took! Magnolias are such impressive flowers.
Jeana This wasn't a time share tour, we just stopped by to see the landscaping and walked through the lobby and downstairs.
Thanks for taking me along - I think you are right, it is a good idea to get out and start snapping pics.:)
