On Sunday we got home from spending 2 1/2 weeks in Illinois with family.
We went down on May 7 because David was graduating from the UofI Springfield. Some may wonder how he got a degree from a college in IL when we live in FL. Well he takes online classes so that he can still work full time. He had already been going to this school before we moved but quit for awhile then started back up last summer.
My little sister was graduating from high school in May also. So, instead of buying two round trip tickets for each of us, I stayed the whole time in between and David came back to FL. He then went back to IL last weekend and stayed the weekend and attended my sisters graduation before we went back home together.
When we were kids we made stepping stones a lot with my mother. Then last year we visited for my mothers birthday and made a stepping stone with Madelines hand and foot print in it. So of course we had to do another stepping stone this year as well!
Last year Maddie was still too young to get into it, but this year she had so much fun picking out all the little pieces of colored glass to put in her stepping stone!
She didn't want to stop but there wasn't much room left for her to put stuff :)
Here are a few pics of us doing our stepping stone:
making the concrete

putting stones in: We did the round ones that are around the outside first then she caught on to what we were doing and wanted to do the rest :)

Grandma and Aunt Gina trying to help:

getting the hand print. We had to redo it a couple of times because she then wanted to stick her stones right in the handprint and it messed it up.

Maddie putting the finishing touches on her stepping stone:

and the finished product.

I wish I would have taken a photo of it once it was all dry and we had taken it out of the mold. Maybe my momma will have to post a pic of it like that :)
