Kids Can Earn a Free Book This Summer from...

Here's How It Works:

1. Kids read any 8 books.

2. Kids use the Summer Reading Journal to tell us their favorite part of each book. A parent/guardian signs it when it's complete.

3. Children bring their completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 29th & September 2nd, 2008.

4. We'll give them a coupon for a FREE book! They choose from a list of exceptional paperback titles.*

* Eligible books will be listed on the coupon. Choices must be made from eligible stock. No special orders. Limit of 1 form per school-age child (grades 1-6), please. Incomplete forms will be ineligible for free books.

We will sign him up for summer reading and family reading at the library though. The theme this year is BUGS - perfect for Gideon.

This is really a wonderful program & it really does encourage kids to read. We had a similar program when we lived in Portland and then moved here, they had a program where the book store in the mall gave them a new book for reading a certain #of books over the summer.

the activities are great... I have one problem, my daughter read on average 14 real books a week and this is while going to school full time... so it would not be fair to BN, this program is good but meant for those who are not yet reading enough... and I have no BN within less than 2 hours drive. anyhow I wish everyone well...

and heads up I hear rummer of a Harry Potter Pre-qual ... like 800 more pages...
