There is something about being near mountains that is magical and glorious. You get a sense of the awe and wonder of God that you can't get from many other places. For me, it is always a time of rejuvination and growth when I am there.
It's also nice to have such great fellowhip there. The weekend pulls 700 leaders from surrounding areas, who all lay down their lives so that high school kids might get a chance to hear the gospel message. Pretty powerful. I've made a lot of friends over the years from the different areas. It's always fun to catch up with them, even if they have some different culture. One of my old friends was showing off a military ring he had just received from his dad. He's actually headed off to the marines in the fall. Others have High Sierra Backpacks that they show off along with their Nalgene bottles and Carabeners. You can typically spot a YL leader a mile away.
In two weeks, we are taking two busses of kids back to the camp, and I'll get to see the mountains again.
