On Father's Day, I am deeply honored to say "thank you" for including my poem in the top 10 finalists for this Veteran's Day writing challenge. The poem I wrote is based on a real event. My dad was a National hero, as well as my personal hero.
We are a Nation of Heros, as so many members of this Gather Veteran's Group are. My personal thanks go out to every servicemember who have served and are serving.

I apologize for not having known sooner that you had honored me with a placement among the top ten finalists for my poem about my husband... (My husband and my father both are/were Veterans of conflicts overseas)... I had no idea until today when I went to go back over some of my older postings to thank people for later comments which I might have missed that one of my works had been chosen...

I am humbled by your recognition... Thank you so, so much...
