We went to see a regular movie in an AMC theater the other day (which we will never do again, but don't get me started on that because it's another whole post entirely.) Of course when you go see the expensive movies there are about 50 previews that come on beforehand. One of these was for a movie entitled "The City of Ember." I thought that was so fascinating because it was a book I read from the library. It was a young adult fiction book that I absolutely loved. I thought it was a great story. I was so interested to see that it was being made into a movie. From the preview it looked like it followed the book pretty closely. I was almost jealous to see that it was being made into a movie though as weird as that is. I don't know why. It was like I discovered the book and so it was mine. I'll probably go see the movie although I don't know if I'll like it having read the book first. It's something that you guys might want to check out. Either the book or the movie.

I've never went to a movie where I've read the book first and thought the movie did it Justice.
what was the story about?
I don't usually want to see a movie and read a book on the same thing. Rarely is my mind in agreement with both treatments of the subject.
When we read, we are free to picture the characters, locations and scenes as we choose. In a movie, we're all stuck with the studio's version, be it good or bad.
I rarely go to see a movie. They're so expensive and so often disappointing.
I ll check out the book.
Thanks
